recently, Maine had an election to pass or veto the same-sex marriage bill. It was beat. Same-sex marriage will not be allowed in Maine for the time being.

The weeks leading up to the election, there were ads aplenty for and against.

Let's say someone's an openly gay actor, a voice actor even. Someone who would love nothing more than to spend his life with someone he loves.

An ad agency wants him to audition for the con side.

What would you do? Would you turn it down or would you do the work to your face or voice out there or for the money?

One of the reasons that I am no longer a working actor is so that I don't get pressured by my agent to take on work that I am not interested in doing.

Commercials are all well and good for paying the rent, but it's not the kind of work that I want to do to make my living. So I have a day job, and the opportunity to pick and choose the work that I want to do in theatre.

But I would never suggest that another person make a decision about his professional life based on the choices that I have made. One must put food on the table, and a roof over one's head.

I wouldn't do something that I was morally against.

The question of whether or not to allow gay marriage is mainly a question of things like whether gay people should be allowed to visit their loved ones in the hospital.

To prevent them from doing so is very morally wrong.

I wouldn't want the work, and I was about to tell you that I wouldn't go in, but maybe if you went in and purposefully did something to not get the work, then you would have wasted the time of the people trying to advertise against it and you wouldn't have to participate in it, and your agent wouldn't be mad at you?
