What 'record-breaking' places/events have you been to ?

It''s probably something most of us have never thought about. Here are a few examples I
can think of myself of places I've been to -

Hampden Park stadium - holds records for largest football crowd in Europe - 149,547
at Scotland v England in 1930 (before my time ! )
Loch Lomond - largest lake in mainland Britain
Cineworld,Glasgow - 'tallest cinema in Europe' (17 storeys)

There's bound to be more I haven't thought of yet,but I'm sure others will have more spectacular examples

I've been to Manitoulin Island, the world's largest fresh water island.

Nice thread! I haven't really thought about this, but I used to be a big fan of the Guinness Book of Records. Ok, so, I have been to...

1. The Werfen ice caves in Austria, the world's largest ice caves!
2. The Ashmolean Museum, Britain's oldest museum
3. Orford Ness, Europe's largest shingle spit (!)
Ok, I'm getting increasingly desperate here...
4. Heathrow Airport, the world's busiest international airport (what a special experience that was)
5. The Eiffel Tower, which is now something like the 7th tallest structure in France (hooray!)

I inadvertently stumbled upon another place today. I was having a look at the Dalton
Fountain in Glasgow and saw a notice on it proclaiming
"The largest terracota fountain in the world"

Key West, Florida, the southernmost point of the States, and with a fort that belonged to the North during the civil war.

Fffffffffff...
I was sure the Louvre was the largest art museum in the world, but apparently it's not. Which is like.. woah. XD;; Because the Louvre is huuuuuge.

Does anything in Paris count as the world's anythingest anything? XD;; (It's the furthest I've traveled and I think the most famous city I've been to..)

Anyway, if not, I've also been to Mount Rainier many times, and one year it got the world record for most snowfall in a year, which impressed me when I heard it because there are a lot of places way more weather-extreme than Western WA. It's crazy to go up there in Summer and it's all snowey. XD A lot of athletes have also made a lot of records there, all related to climbing and.. climbing. I don't know what other extreme sports you really do on a mountain.;;; (There's no ski resort there.)

Oh and...
Another place I've been to many times has recently acquired a rather shameful world record. Most glitter-covered psycho-fans in the forest at one time. Guess that one. D:
