I saw this on the front porch tonight. I've never seen anything like this before. Do you know what it is?
And we are in Southeastern Virginia, USA.

Ah... This is a Morning Glory Plume Moth, most people seem to call it the t bug or t moth from where iam and it's a very common moth which I see an awful lot in the spring to the summer.

It's a european moth which has been introduced to North America which flies coast to coast... A few months ago, I had one right outside my window :eew: and it was not helpful having to wash the dishes and see THAT on thy window.

There, this bug is now identified :D

Lots of them where I live in southern England, you see them most often on tree trunks.

I've never seen them in continental Europe but plenty in England.

To me, that looks more like a combination of a bettle and a fly to me, yet looking at it would creep me out... I would be scared to even go near any insects. :lol:
