I'm going to say Two Thousand-Ten, 2010, because I think it sounds better.

I'm gonna go with twenty-ten, pronouncing "thousand" is too much bother :p

'Two thousand and ten' or 'two thousand 'n' ten'. I have to admit 'twenty ten' does sound nifty and that way of splitting it up in English does use less syllables from 2010 to 2099 (or even 2999?), but I think of the year as a number like any other quantity. Granted I used to pronounce years before 2000 as (for instance) 'nineteen ninety-nine' but that's only because the alternative would be way too long for everyday speech. I do think it would be more efficient after 2099 for us to just say the digits because years would have more syllables (can't speak for other languages besides English though, so this would likely vary depending on the language) by then (try saying 2177 or even 2077 and you'll see what I mean).

It would be nice if we keep with saying the year the way it should be said: like we would any other quantity of units which is all it is anyway.

Anyone else agree?
