who feels the urge to sneeze in bright sunlight?

need to sneeze at the sight of light?

this topic was broached in another posting somewhere on WP, the above link illuminates it a bit.

I wouldn't say I feel the urge to sneeze in bright sunlight, but glimpsing at the sun often makes me sneeze. I've always been curious abou that.

And if I have a sneeze that's almost going to happen but not quite, I use looking at a light source to push it over the edge to get it over with.

I feel that urge, all the time. I think that I might be allergic to the sun.

Sunlight is depressing and hurts my eyes, but it's never made me sneeze before.

It happens to me, every summer, and than my skin itches.

That is me. As long as I remember, if I go out of a dark building into intense sunlight, I am likely to sneeze. Used not to be sure of causation, but it has nothing tpo do with specific buldings or the season. It's light. If I leave the sam,e building after the sun moves to the other side it does not happen.

I do, but I haven't voted on the poll as I don't consider it to be a problem. Like Apple said, it's useful to be able to trigger a sneeze sometimes.

It's from 1997, and I just noticed the OP posted a more recent article. Still, this is a "phenomenon"(I guess that's the term) I never really thought about nor paid attention. Luckily, it's sunny today so I'll look up and see what happens!

I think this is relatively common. My guess would be that bright light makes your eyes water which is pavlovian-ly associated with allergies. You sneeze because you subconsciously think your eyes are watering from a physical irritant.

I never did this but I did used to sneeze if my hair had a strong static charge. Explain that one
