For example when I was a kid I'd have friends over and IMO I don't mind MY plates/soda cans sitting around my room but if IMO you are coming to my HOUSE pick up YOUR TRASH! The garbage can is in the kitchen HELP YOURSELF SHEESH! They rather just leave their trash there!! ! Is anyone else like this?

No,,,I hate my messes but I am happy to see places as messed up as mine. I think some messes are charming...My ASish friend lives in a nest. You can't even enter his kitchen...or stray from the narrow path from his couch to his bathroom...but I like it...it makes me smile...it is part of who he is....

There have been exceptions though....I recall a certain godawful stoner apartment of friends of my boyfriend when I was younger where the bathroom was completely intolerable..and they kept the cat box in there...and the cat box was never cleaned and the cat had peed all over the clothes on the bathroom floor...so the place reeked.....and there was hair alll over the sink...it was completely vile....We got them a clothes hamper for Christmas...and it sorta merely added to the clutter...there was still clothes all over the floor and the horrible reek of cat urine and so on.....

I should not complain...I certainly have problems of my own....including cat box problems...

Oh yeah for sure. I can live with my own mess but other people's mess is intolerable.

I'm conscious of my mess but I reassure myself with the fact that my mess is germ free, everyone else's isn't, and it's all perfectly organised in my mind (I know where everything is despite the chaos). Other peoples messes are ok if it's in their own space only.

Oh yeah, it makes me nuts when people leave their things all over the house and I leave my stuff out all of the time. I have a rhyme and reason for my messes ad I am using or going to use what I have out. Their messes only serve to stress me out as they rarely use what is out and then get annoyed when they cannot find what they left out. Further, I do not like feeling like someone's maid. I would not leave wrappers or soda cans out for someone else to tend to. It is rude. People should take care of their stuff unless someone tells them they will take care f it for them, me thinks.

Pretty much, yeah. My mess is my mess, but other people's mess (particularly my brother's mess, since he is the laziest man on the planet) gets me me really annoyed. At least I know vaguely where everything is when it's in my lair...

I would say it would be true about me, especialy in my own room, that my two younger brother like to make a mess in. Pluss the mess in their rooms look just hectic.

My "mess" isn't actually mess. It might look that way from outside my head (and judging by the persistent nagging, it does ), but to me everything just... fits.

Other people's mess incenses me, I suppose because they're the same people complaining about me and yet their mess is in a communal area (whereas mine is confined to my room) and is just as much of a mess to them as it is to me - unnecessary.

I don't see my mess as a mess. I see it more as organizing things my way. Other people's, though, I just can't stand.
