what is everyone's speech like? I speak Upper-Midwestern American English.

My long Os are rounded (Minne-SOH-ta)

when A is before a G (as in flag or bag) it sounds like the AY sound in bay or ray not the A as it bat. This is called the Flag-Plague merger, in my accent flag and plague rhyme.

Merry, marry, and Mary sound exactly the same.

"Root" rhymes with "boot."

Cot and Caught sound the same.

I often use the Scandinavian "Ya" instead of "yeah."

I use the Canadian "eh" on the end of sentences.

I have a mild degree of Canadian Raising

I was a Foreign Service brat, and we are notorious for having no identifiable American regional accent, since we often spend our formative years overseas.

No one can ever figure out where I'm from.

Would you at least remove the word "English" from it?
I don't go around calling my language: "Anglo-Latin", do I?


Anyway... I'm just a Londoner with a London accent. Good old capital of the UK of GB.

A combination of New York and Midland.... I don't drop all of my r's, but some of them in certain words. I still think many people from my area actually have a New York, Staten Island, Long Island, or North Jersey accent, and I don't here it in my family memebers.

My accent is know as Received Pronunciation.

My accent's a mix of things. I speak quickly, yet I fully pronunciate all of my words. Although there are also times where I'll skip a letter or syllable. I guess it just depends on the day. I think my accent lies somewhere between Midland, Western, and a tad bit of Southern. I'm from Houston originally, but I moved here to Indiana when I was six. Most people think I sound Californian, though, but I have heard other states.

I have a plain old Western American accent since I've lived in Idaho my whole life.

Mine is Lowland Scottish English with a bit of Doric mixed in.

You already know what my accent is.

The quiz says that I'm "Northeast New England", but I find that difficult to believe, considering that I spent the first six years of my life in California, and I notice distinct differences between NE New England accent and the way I talk. I answered each question by taking the word examples and putting them in a sentence, such as "Don was on dawn patrol", just to be sure.

I think that counts as simply vanilla Standard American. No surprises for me.

My accent is more or less RP with some hints of Estuary English, such as the dune/June merger, confrontational question tags and (sometimes) glottal stops for 't' in the middle of words such as McCartney

There are also hints of a South Wales accent but it's hardly affected my vowels.

I have a mild southern accent. I say my "I's" like most southerners do and I say "naw" instead of no sometimes.

Glaswegian (e.g. Billy Connolly in restrained mode ) although I tend to modify my accent to
'mid-Atlantic' when answering phone calls at work.
