To: Aspies who are at or above 'middle age'

Did you have/are you having a mid-life crisis (that you could/can distinguish from the normal anxiety that comes with Asperger's) :?:

Must resist temptation to post Faith No More song that is only semi-relevant to topic.....

I've been having a quarter-life crisis for the last 5 years.

Thank you. A "quarter-life crisis" is a much better way to put it than a "mid-life crisis at 21." Wish I would have thought of that.

You should probably post this in Indepth Adult Life Discussion, there would be more older posters there..

But anyway there are crises at many junctures of life. I am currently having an early 30s crisis......

Well a mid-life crisis is when you realize you've already lived half your life.

Just do what I do: deny that you're ever going to die.

Problem solved.

i'd say yes, sort of.

couple of years ago i stopped working at a high-stress, high-responsibility job (teacher/principal of a one-room school). plus i had a total breakdown last year that made me re-evaluate everything in my life.

but i was like a sterotypical old lady before that, in some ways. as a teenager and in my 20s i was stodgy and stilted and stuck in my ways. having a child and teaching kind of brought out my youthfulness a little bit, and now i hardly qualify as a grown-up at times. i have gotten myself into some silly hijinx over the last couple of years...

at work, they call me benjamin button and/or merlin, cuz for some reason i also LOOK younger than i used to. got carded at the liquor store twice in the last 3 months (they ID under 25).

but i chalk it up to not wanting to get older i guess. i'm in denial somehow. hence my crisis.
