I was taking the empty Long Island Railroad line home from Manhattan (New York City), when a well dressed man took a seat (1 of 2) next to me and began to open conversation. He started asking me about myself, and I being the adventurous man that I am, obliged and we spoke.

It turned out that he was an upper management fellow from one of the Big Banks, and after examining his business card I noticed he had alot of letters after his name. I was impressed to say the least.

About 20 minutes into the ride, the mood changed to his expressing a different kind of interest in me, which was personified in his hand on my thigh, as well as some other "offers". I ignored it and politely finished the conversation and got off at my stop.

This encounter reminded me of a modeling job I was offered in exchange for a "favor", some time ago by a fellow male. I think gay men find me attractive.

These encounters make me wonder why my prospects for success and significant others seems so much better as a homosexual.

Why can't a successful female Ivy league graduate making six figures ask me to be their slave? It isn't fair. Maybe I should pretend to be gay.

Thoughts?

I don't think that it's wise to pretend to be, what you're not. Take it from me. It's not a good idea.

I think you must be a very good looking young man.

I also think you shouldn't pretend for it would turn out badly.

I think you are very well written. Perhaps gifted? I enjoyed reading your post and thought it was written with a good sense of humour. :D

Maybe you can earn six figures one day as a published author.

I hope you're joking about your requirements in a female partner.

Thank you for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have some poetry published in a book or two, but nothing too serious. My aunt however is trying to get me to write a novel, but I'm still in school. I'm really lazy in the summer and will be a NEET until September.
(btw a NEET is "Not in Education, Employment or Training", also known as a home security guard)

Of course, of course. The premise was that I have all of these various 'catches' within the male gender taking fancies to me, without a proper control group of female equivalents.

I honestly don't know how I would have reacted had the person on the train been a woman. Perhaps I would have been more compliant.

I have always thought that gay men have one huge advantage over straight mne, and you have just demonstrated it.

In this culture, men are socialized to be the initiators of social contact. So, even though straight women vastly outnumber gay men, a typical shy man might be just as likely to be the subject of attention from a gay man as he is from a straight woman.
