I'm confused about a scene in The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)

its the bit where Crown nicks the painting from the gallery - he removes the frame and place the picture in one of those cases you see in the likes of Hu$tle (BBC TV Series) or heist movies...
he then folds the case shut - effectively bending the picture into 2 - but when he takes it out the case later on, the wooden border thing at the edge of the canvas is not broken, furthermore, the painting carries not marks of being stretched. is this a feature of the case or something, or is just an error in the film. i just dont get how u can bend a picture in two and not mark it. watch it and you'll see.
