Do you prefer shopping online, shopping in stores for Christmas shopping?

I prefer shopping in the store for this reasons:

1. I don't have a credit card

2. I live in Canada and lots of online stores only ship to the states

My few giftees are rather jaded and prefer something useful--a warm scarf, a roll of stamps, a pair of gardening gloves--to a big fancy present. These gifts can be purchased in stores I pass in the course of my day.

I prefer useful presents too. Or at least something I know that my object likes. I don't have many objects to give them something, so it depends on chosen gifts. Last year I purchased something from online shop, this year I bought a book in the store and I'm going to electronic shop tomorrow (well, today, it's 1:11 here).
