Okay so you can make a comment and mean nothing bad by it and someone can think you had an agenda.

I was on Facebook the other week and I decided to post a funny comment on my wall. My parents were down in Hawaii and I have my dad as my friends on there and he made a comment "You're gross" under my aunt's account and she replied saying that was my dad. But I figured he meant nothing bad by it because I know him and he talks that way all the time. He has said things to me in the past like "you're grossing me out" and didn't even sound angry, in fact it would sound like he is joking as he say it. But if I didn't know him and he said it on Facebook, I would have thought he was attacking me and couldn't take a joke and I may have unfriended him.

So that is how easy it is to misunderstand someone over a comment they make if you don't know them very well in real life.

That is a very good example.

Yep, that is a good example. I've been on both sides of "Internet misunderstanding" incidents.

You can say literally anything and yet people can take it the wrong way and unfortunately, this happens all the time.
Have anyone ever noticed I do smileys in all my posts? ;)

I put them there for a good reason, it causes less misunderstandings in my situation.

I need to start putting smileys more in my posts but sadly I don't always know when I should and when I do do smileys, people ignore them and still take it the wrong way but maybe it's because of their autism?

It is just a matter of time before I piss someone off the way I look at it. I can't really be bothered by what conclusions someone draws or if they want to judge me in a negative light. I mean I will mess with people at times, but I don't bully or look to intentionally hurt anyone. I am not really bothered if someone doesn't like me or wants to defriend me.

It's really easy to misunderstand things on the internet. That's why I really like to keep away from social networking websites. It's also easy to misunderstand things through text messages. :( Sucks. I find that I actually prefer the phone now, but in-person communication is the best thing to me.

On Babycenter, things are crazy there. I see people ask questions all the time and the other women are just plain old rude when they answer. They get snarky and turn into bullies and get all hostile or defensive with their answers when all the person did was ask an innocent question. But people go on saying how rude OPs are but yet if you ask it in a none rude way, people will act civil. Okay that doesn't make any sense because what I see all the time is people asking innocent questions but obviously you have to ask it in a right way so people won't be mean to you. People actually read questions differently than I do? They perceive the OP as being rude while I see it as none rude and it's just an innocent question.

90% of the time I am even too afraid to post a thread fearing it be taken the wrong way and women there are just mean. Maybe they just misunderstand so they get mean? I have definitely learned the difference between autism forums and NT forums. It's ten times worse over there than here when dramas occur here and when people get all defensive or hostile over a OP's post.

Well there are the no drama groups so I should take advantage of those since drama ain't allowed there but I never get around to making new threads and I am shy anyway.

this explains how i think & feel about internet communication, more concisely than i would have explained it.
