Maybe it's frightened of the dark?

Nah, it's all myths

Eyestrain or poor quality lighting.
Try to keep away from screens (or at least keep your contact to an absolute minimum) for a couple of days and see what happens.

Ah, hmm.
Better room lighting, especially if the screen is about the brightest thing in front of your eyes?
Also taking breaks from looking so intently at the screen. Maybe you can manage to walk away from it regularly, to give your eyes a break. It's not so good if they're trained on one thing at the same distance from your eyes, day in & day out.
There are also eye drops available without prescription (in the UK that would be something like Optrex) which are general-purpose 'eye comfort' drops - this may help too.

Jeah I have this as well. Always been that way. I believe that it is not a relaxed and natural face state. I either have both my eyes open or closed, if I close one that lid will start to shake (almost as if it wants to mimic the other eye). It is easier to have one eye closed if the other lid is a little lower and almost closed as well and not wide open.

That's my take on it.

And Brian your first post was very funny.

The same thing happens to me, as well.

You also understand basic logic. This really isn't looking good for for you. I'm not sure you could believe in Jesus, even if you tried. But Repent, lest your incessant nystagmus destroy you!
