Here's the problem:

Tim Horton's coffee cup lids are so notorious for randomly leaking that they're planning on investing in a new lid design.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/tim-ho ... 2238221590

But the problem isn't with the design of the lid, it's with training staff on how to properly place them.

My comment: "This is a training issue. I have literally shown Tim Horton’s employees how to put their lids on properly. If you put it on any which way, the edge of the paper seam on the cup lifts the lid enough for hot condensing steam (especially from black coffee) to drip out on your hand. If you put the lid on so that one edge of the mouth opening lines up butted directly against the exposed edge of the paper seam, then the entire lid is sealed down to the paper rim all the way around - no lifted spot, no leaks! Problem solved. Who in Brazil do I send my consulting bill to?"

A few people on Facebook told me I should film a live video to show them, so, I did.

The quickie tutorial I just shot: (Nope, I'm not on camera. On purpose. :P)

https://www.facebook.com/rsiecahnard/vi ... gjTPw28PjI

Saving the back of one Canadian hand at a time from getting scalded by black coffee drips. 8)

I know, I know.. no one cares.. but here in Canada where we don't have any TRE45ON problems to solve, we're down to fine tuning things like how to put Tim Hortons coffee cup lids on properly. :D

lol edit - wrong FB link..

Similar ineptitude of the baristas here in America is why I stopped going to Starbucks.

It was never THEIR fault ... oh, no no no ... it was always the way that *I* picked up the cup from the counter... after they had half-snapped the lid on...

There are a few Tim Horton's in the United States----though not many, except maybe in border areas like Buffalo, NY.

I was amazed at the ubiquity of Tim Horton's in Canada.

Let me tell you: they make far better sandwiches in Tim Horton's than Duncan Donuts does. They are both very similar places, otherwise.

There’s another reason I posted this here on this forum. I didn’t actually expect any of you to give a flying F about the subject matter or losing my Facecrack live virginity.

Watch it again & listen carefully. Can you hear what I hear? (Don’t worry, I’m not trying to hypnotize you. :P)

I find that quite interesting, actually. My biggest problem with Timmy's beverages what that they would spill so easily I couldn't take even one little sip during an average car ride, no matter how tightly the lid is on. So I'm glad they're planning redesign them to be more spill-proof. I've had beverages from other places where the lid is designed kind of like a sippy-cup, which might sound silly but it's much easier not to spill. TH lids are flimsy and you drink from it by lifting up a tab and since the coffee or tea is filled to the brim...

There are a number of Tim Horton's in the greater NYC area. There is one Penn Station, and one in Jamaica, Queens

I listened to the video’s audio using a set of noise canceling headphones. While going through it, I said to myself, “I think I am hearing something in the background! It almost sounds like a lawnmower.”

Then I realized that a gardener had arrived in my neighborhood and was mowing a lawn.

Ive never once had a problem with tim hortans lids but I probably just jinxed myself. Hopefully I will like the new lid design. Never had a problem with the old one.

No takers, eh?

Listen to the prosody of my voice. You can't fake that.

I've noticed that when my symptoms are worse, the Aspie prosody of my voice is worse/more pronounced, too. I didn't notice it in my own speech as I was speaking, but I really noticed it when I called my own cell phone from a landline once to see if I could check voicemail when my phone was busted. I deleted and changed that greeting long ago, but I kind of wished I still had it as evidence of even how that trait changes with the treatment protocol I follow. I haven't listened to my current one since I created it many moons ago so have no idea if it's very noticeable.. but guaranteed it's not as noticeable as it once was with the one I deleted - that one was VERY obvious.
