AA Can Get you home and your car if you are drunk

One of my work mates started a conversational of how he one got home when he was drunk
and could not get home, because of UK drink driving laws. He called up the AA, disabled some
wiring in his car so it wouldn't start. The AA, picked him up and his car and dropped him home.

I wonder if it is a popular thing to do in the stats.
