Has anyone ever made a thread or a post and then not go back to it?

I do this sometimes only because I tend to forget about it. I will sometimes make a thread at Babycenter and then forget about it and then I remember I made that thread so I be sure to go back and check. I think I have done it here a few times and then I would remember I made a thread here. So I do go back to it technically but I sure don't go back to it right after I make the post. Sometimes it's a few days before I realize I had made that thread and I hadn't been back since. I just get so forgetful.

I don't think I have ever done that. I am more of an 'obsessively check the post I made over and over' kind of gal!

I have. Sometimes I get distracted by things (like I might get some new books) and get so caught up I forget to come check things. Other times I post something then get overwhelmed if people respond to it so I just avoid it. I try not to do that though... but I usually do not have to worry about it as I do not often start topics, so it is not like it is a big problem for me.

I have more than once when making posts, though not often. If you're talking about making threads though, the few times I have made them, I've always checked back.

Don't expect me to check this thread again :).

The "View Your Posts" link makes sure I never skip a beat on the threads I posted to. However, I may avoid responding for the sake of my reputation.

I've done many hit and run posts over my 7 years here. I've posted things and never looked back in fear of the reactions that I might get from making those posts.

i get irritated when some starts a whole thread asking for advice on a topic and then never posts on the thread again. maybe the person is reading the responses but it's kinda of annoying that they don't respond.

(i don't initiate very many threads, because i feel responsible for the thread once i start it. i mostly post in other people's threads)

My hit and run posts are made out of self defense within a thread, and I know that the bully will keep at it, so it's better not to return for a month and see what happened.

I do this often, I get too anxious about people's replies - such as a fear that I've said something stupid or offensive without realising it and thus people will reply with criticism.

League_girl hasn't followed up to this thread. Bet she's forgotten about it and done a hit and run!

Not that I can think of. I don't tend to start too many threads unless its a topic I find very interested that I want to discuss, so I always tend to return and reply

Yes, but absolutely never to provoke for the sake of provoking (I don't see what people get from that.) I used to be more, I dunno, combative, but after some very, very draining arguments elsewhere I've become much warier of entering into lengthy arguing, especially with people who can't see me and where I don't have the option to punch them repeatedly in the face for lying, wilfully misconstruing my every word and being the very rankest breed of hypocrites, or whatever the term is for the thing people mean when they incorrectly say hypocrite. *ahem* Did I mention the draining arguments? And also, I recognise my own views on some subjects as being too extreme to bother attempting to engage in discussion of any kind, so I just stay away from PPR and all that nonsense anyway. And I'm easily distracted in some ways.
