Nope. Why would I? It would just have a crying-wolf effect of making things harder for me when things actually were because of my ASD.

I would love something like that because I had lots of problems related to my Aspie stuff but I was never able to use the autism/AS excuse to explain the misunderstanding with others & my rezoning. I don't think I would abuse that card because I care about fairness & playing by the rules & everyone being held to the same standards & treated the same. If I did abuse it thou; I would be making up for all the times I got in trouble when it really wasn't my fault. I'm NOT going to do like Peter Griffin on Family Guy when he was diagnosed as being borderline mentally retorted

Heh heh. That card is funny.

I would not use autism as a way to get out of trouble. I am not, however, opposed to letting people know what I have going on if I think it will be beneficial or relevant to the situation. A good example is that sometimes I try to speak and cannot. While attending college, it was good for my teachers to know this about me so they did not think I was being some jerk just ignoring them if they spoke to me and I just sat there staring at them.

No. Only 3 ex-coworkers know about my Asperger's Syndrome, and only because I told them in my last week before I quit that job. In other words, there is no one who I can (or want to) use the ASD Card against.

I've used it once to my knowledge. I was clumsy by accident, and extremely quiet .. The nurses at where I was had an suspicion something was wrong with me, so I pulled it out and exclaimed 'I have Aspergers " I figured that if she cared or knew what it was, it'd be self explanatory. After that they treated me very well. I more so used it as a defense mechanism to explain my abnormal demeanor and composure.
