I mostly post on autism-related posts that are relevant to me and game threads.

Threads that ask what kinds of threads you post on

Anything where I feel I have something to say, but I tend to stick around the main forums.

mostly VS debates forums like Star Trek vs Star Wars kind of forums. Does anyone know any more forums like this?

I think that the General Autism discussion would be where most of my activity is. It's certainly the subforum that I find the most interesting.

More recently, I also have a lot of posts in Moog's Bointless and Poring thread. I like to have somewhere for inane chatter, and it was that or Grisha's Pointless and Boring Thread. I like Moog more than Grisha (disclaimer: this does not mean that I dislike Grisha. I find him quite pleasant actually.), so I chose his thread.

I mostly post on the "Got Anything Random to Say" and "Post a Random Truth (about yourself)" threads. I like to use them to give little updates about my day. Posting is a therapeutic action for me.

My favorite threads are the ones that talk about imagination, imaginary worlds, imaginary friends etc. or the ones that ask "What are your special interests?" because if there's one thing (okay, two things) I love gushing about, it's my imagination and my special interests!

most threads where i think i have something to say, although i tend to avoid any threads entitled 'does anyone else... / am i the only one / is this normal?' etc because it seems to be a silly question.

I'm all for the PPR- politics, mostly though, as I find philosophy boring and mostly pointless semantics- religion I could care less so long as its not trying to step on my toes. I also like any history based topics, or science ones. I tend to post in just about anything that strikes my interest or amuses me in good or bad ways.

The philosophy threads tend to be a bit ill-defined and full of over-extended metaphor . It's a shame, because at least 1% of the field consists of good ideas.

I would post in history, but I've long since given up on learning it because it ultimatly comes down to me spewing dogma at someone elses dogma; it's very hard to verify anything yourself (unlike science).

I certainly like reading some philosophers (mostly ancient). I tend to find philosophy debates unstimulating... a lot of the really original, great ideas (that 1% you mention) don't seem to get noticed, or are passed over in favor of generic philosophical posturing (at least on the web). I get tired of hearing people talk about Objectivism as if its a legitimate, original philosophy that is the answer to all problems (it seems to me that lots of people on the internet are Objectivists, yet you don't seem to meet too many in Academia, or outside of dimly lit basement rooms with Confederate flags & guns adorning the walls and the whir of crappy computer fans & the steady drip of leaky plumbing providing the ambiance...)

History though is something I am well versed in and I can sometimes tell where people get their information by the content of their argument. I actually find it isn't that difficult to verify, but I spend most of my time doing historical research (for school and for my own amusement) so when I see something really oddball or interesting that I'm not familiar with I will go out of my way to see where it comes from. I can smell revisionist history (our equivalent to pseudoscience, I suppose you could say) from a mile away, that's for sure

It depends on the forum. On WP I mostly check the L&D & Random section. On slow forums I read most threads but I mostly post when I have something to contribute

I like the Autism subforum; however, it takes more effort to get involved in reading through those threads. I am mostly on random and adult, since they don't require much sharing interpersonally. I generally read what catches my eye, while probably biasing myself towards reading a few people that I have found interesting in the past. L&D seems to be a big whine session. I like science-tech section but it doesn't get used much.

Mostly, I post on threads that I can somehow relate back to myself...and then I'll just talk about myself as if anyone should care
I don't know, I suppose perhaps it's therapeutic to post all this crap. But I love talking about myself - when online at least (I really can't irl). Yes, I am that ridiculous. Despite hating myself, I am very, very interested in the way my own mind works. I constantly fear that someone is going to attack me about how pointless my posts are and how I keep going off to talk about something only barely related to the topic...if at all. See? I'm doing it right now! And I can't edit it out because it would feel 'wrong', like I was lying.

I forgot to add unless I can think of a stupid joke to make or a song to post that is in some way related to a post in that thread; I'm famous for that
What I mean by contributing is if I can think of something that might could be helpful, a question to ask, a random thought about what I notice or if I can post about my personal experiences because they re related.. If the post seems long or has lots of replies; I tend to skim it & less likely to reply
