Sorry...I need to post this one, after getting myself back into the Cockney Spirit.

I'll start.

Routies always seem to be smiling.

They were the only Buses left that seemed to have a "Face" to them.

Their predominent colour. Red is one of my favourite colours.

The first standard production Routemasters seem to have rosy cheeks, due to the Brake Grilles.

The London Transport logos that are painted onto the sides.

The front Engine Grille and the Pole at the back.

That they go "Ding! Ding!"

Routemasters bring images of "Swingning London" to my Mind.

The side-pannel adverts.

My Bus was one of the longest running Symbols of London.

That the Diecast versions take up a lot less space than Vintage TV Sets.

The noise from the engine and the transmission whine!

The fact that they have Conductors - much friendlier and safer.

The old-fashioned atmosphere inside, particularly downstairs.

And the way they kept going for thousands upon thousands of miles, until they were a piece of living history...

I must admit I prefer a nice GS or RT, though :)

The fact that they remind me of the amazing times I've had with friends in London.

I love the way the red colour is usually not so shinny. That matt dirty look reminds me of worn out die-cast toys of my childhood.

+ They're red and friendly-looking;

+ They're double-decker buses, which gives you a great view from the top;

+ They have an iconic appearance;

+ Their look screams LONDON.

It was one of the first buses I( travelled on whgen I first came to London

The Conductors

The Atmosphere

The convenience of being able to get on and off BEHIND the bus rather than near the front.

Things I HATE about the new "Bendy-buses:

They were not made for some of the tight London corners.

If they get stuck, thety make this awful mechanical scream

If they are packed, it is Hell.

They are a fire trap-and a fire hazard (asa they've been known to catch alight.)

I like the bit that 'goes in', above the half-bonnet, next to the driver, with the top deck overhanging! I think it's because I like architecture. :D

Oh and for years I have fantasized about a double decker bus styled as a gothic cathedral. I realise this is strange.... :lol:

It won't make a difference, but the Save the Routemaster has 13171 signatures. :D

They are red.
They are double-decker.
They are a form of transport.
