Gerontophobia - fear of growing old/fear or hatred of elderly
Gerascophobia - fear of growing old

I'm a gerontophobe. I discovered this when I went to a nursing home with my classmates to sing Hanukkah songs and I felt very nervous passing by old people. They all scared me for some reason.

I remember going to a nursing home with my school's student council to play bingo with the elderly. There was a nice old lady I was playing bingo with. After the game, I wheeled her back to her room (she was confined to a wheelchair) and when we reached her room, she kissed me on the cheek. She was very sweet. :)

So, no, I wouldn't consider myself a gerontophobe. I don't exactly fear growing old, either. What I do fear is that I might grow old without getting to experience lots of things in life which I hope to have experienced by then.
