Hi,

I was wondering how many people like cats and have some form of Autism and how many don't like cats and have some form of Autism?

I have never started a poll before, hope I put it together correctly.

Thanks,

LostAlien

I like cats, just not mine... JK, she's just so whiney... and the only way to shut her up is to give her a 10 minutes massage until shes so relaxed she just falls asleep. Then she wakes up to do it all over again... Talk about a vicious cycle. But I love her...

Cats are great. 8) I only have one, and that's enough for now. Anyway, I think she would bully another cat if I did get another.

I like dogs too. But, they are higher maintenence so I'll stick with my cat. Maybe if I had more property..... :chin:

I love cats but every so often, maybe every ten years or so, I encounter a psycho cat who does not like me and will attack me just for looking at it. If I move, it attacks my feet of if I enter the room, it rears up and hisses at me. This isn't play either. The pupils get big, the back arches, the ears go back, the hair goes up and it scares the crap out of me because cats normally love me and I love them but the psycho ones I could just punt into the river.

Some of the nicest people I've ever met were cats!

If you've experienced villification from NTs while away from your home, cats can really cheer you up when you get home.

I never used to like cats. The first one I had climbed in through the sunroof and tore up all the new interior, after that I couldn't stand them.

Recently a feral cat had a litter of kittens in my shed and my dog got them. He killed all except the smallest grey kitten, poor thing was almost dead. I nursed it back to health and now we are inseparable. Might sound gross, but I even had to give it mouth to mouth to keep it alive during the first night. The vet said it was a miracle it survived from the injuries it suffered. She's fine now, though missing one ear and the tip of her tail. She's an inside cat as the dog owns the yard.

I've come to like cats again now... and remember to shut my sunroof. Very calming to have a cat sitting in your lap purring away.

While pleasantly sedentary company, cats are best employed in making funny pictures.

Cats are the best! I've had 5 cats in my life and currently have 3 (though I wish I had more). Cats are amazing, both domestic and wild.

That's an incredible story! Good for you for helping that little kitten survive, most people wouldn't have bothered.

With my cats, their Mum was killed on the road. The nextdoor neighbours kids found the kittens. They were about (guessing) three to five weeks old. Now healthy and vigorious (and very cheeky sometimes.)

i very much like cats. they are so "fluffily" smug. every cat is regal looking to me.

i like how cats sit on high looking down at what is happening.

i like to watch cats as they look at things. there is a primeval understanding i have about what goes through their minds (i have never verified the validity of the understanding obviously but is is a "feeling" i have of relationship).

i like the curiosity of cats and i always am absorbed by watching them looking curiously at things.
i look at them and what they are looking at, and i know how long it will be before they decide that what they are looking at is boring and when they will look elsewhere. i am usually right and i like watching cats. they are more "cool" than the "coolest" human can ever be.
cats seem to have an expression of peaceful wisdom on their face. funny how i can have an idea of animal expressions when i have no clue as to the meaning of human facial distortions (peoples expressions as i see them).

it seems unfair that such wise and slinky and attractive beings could only live an average of 15 years.

there is a cat that lives up the road and he is so bold. he lies on his back in the middle of the road in winter to soak up the sun. he rolls and plays and just loafs there.
after an hour or so, a car may come along and it has to stop (the street i live in is very quiet).
the driver has to get out and try to shoo the cat away. the cat gets up and walks toward the driver and curls his body around the drivers feet affectionately (or scent "depositingly") and the driver picks the cat up and puts him down on the sidewalk and gets back in and proceeds.

that cat always stops traffic. the traffic is at the mercy of the cat almost and he blissfully rolls his cute body on the warm road and he is at peace. he is the cutest thing.

but he is not allowed to come too close to my place. although i like cats, i have wild animals that visit me everyday in my backyard. i want no cats near my property.

i have 6 possums who are so sweet and innocent that visit me at night, they stand up and they have prehensile hands and they are a bit dopey compared to mammals and not at all ready to encounter a quick witted predatory cat.

i have 8 bush mice who live in the ceiling of the shed who come down in the afternoon to be fed, and they would fall victim to the cat if he was encouraged by me.

i have parrakeets and rosellas and lorrikeets and cockatoos and crested pidgeons and noisy minors and kookaburras on the ground in my backyard most afternoons.

i do not want meat eating sophisticated mammals to be anywhere near, because my wild animals are simple thinking australian natives and not programmed much for suspicion.

so yes i like cats, but cats do not have any place at my place now.
