Would you? Do you?

I would, just out of curiosity.

I figure that if I eat prawns and other invertebrates, I might as well eat grasshoppers.

80% of the world's countries eat insects! You've almost certainly accidentally eaten them on fruit and veg, anyway.

I've no aversion to eating insects. If I saw one on my lettuce I would set it free back into the wild though.

But if someone served me a plate of crispy critters ready cooked, I'd give it a go.

He disgusted me much while with him, for when a horrid blowfly, bloated with some carrion food, buzzed into the room, he caught it, held it exultantly for a few moments between his finger and thumb, and before I knew what he was going to do, put it in his mouth and ate it.

I scolded him for it, but he argued quietly that it was very good and very wholesome, that it was life, strong life, and gave life to him. This gave me an idea, or the rudiment of one. I must watch how he gets rid of his spiders.

I've accidentally swallowed flies, does that count?

Apparently insects have a slight nutty taste, so if you're allergic to nuts yet you love their taste, then insects are the obvious substitute. And another bonus is you don't need a nutcracker to crack them open

I've eaten them accidentally, but I would take the opportunity to eat a cooked one, probably.

If I were in the right state of mind for it, sure, but right now it doesn't appeal to me. :/ I've eaten escargot, though, which tastes like shiitake mushrooms.

I've done it, and so have most people that eat red colored candy. They use beetles for the color. :-D

I wouldn't eat insects because I'd be worried about catching a disease.
