Anybody notice how comedy has became worse in movies? It seems like the 90s to about mid 2005s comedy was excellent and natural. Now when people try to be funny on movies it seems too set-up like it has been pre-thought then said.

I hate the recent trend of "reference comedy." I don't even need to watch The Hot Tub Time Machine to know that I would hate it. The trailer is quite enough. Ha ha! Look at that guy! He's listening to a Walkman! Isn't that hilarious? People did that in the 80s!

Yes, they did. Now where's the joke?

yeah, i feel like will ferrel, the guy he usually does movies with and adam sandler take the cake on comedy and the guy from pineapple express who was shot like 15 times.

Meet the Parents was funny, hangover was lame. For some reason I enjoyed Superbad, but most Apatow movies aren't all that. The 70's had some great comedies and should probably be the gold standard.
