WP is getting more and more unfriendly , users are unfreindly to each other and I think is due to lack of ....knowing each others ...
the "ask questions" in members section is messy and it s hard to follow to know better the user....

I suggest to do "under spotlight user of the week" ...the mods create a sticky thread called "application center" where people apply if they are willing to participate in the underlight activity ....and every week a user would be chosen from the list in the application (by order) and a stick thread will be created called like : " Under spotlight: LePetitPrince"
and there users can ask the chosen user questions about him ....
and of course all these in the private section of the forum.

so what do you think ?

Cool. Good idea. I don't come on here to offend as I've got my own problems. I'm a nice person.

My experience here is that the nastiness comes and goes... once it reaches a peak of ugliness it then dips and reaches a valley of niceness... or vice versa... so maybe we are due for that valley of niceness :D.

It would be great to know everyone. And if we did perhaps we would find out that most of the offence is down to misunderstandings, and the rest comes from a very small fraction of the users. Perhaps.

However, as nice as it would be to know everyone.... At the time of writing this, there is 6033 users and 173 online. Thats just too many people for me to know all of them.

Yeah, sometimes I feel kind of offended or intimidated, but a lot less than on other forums.

Maybe instead of one person at a time, it could be a few (4 or 5) simultaneously, so we can get to know more people faster. Or maybe start on one person every day, and leave it open for a week.

I for one wouldn't read it, so I see little need for it. That's just me, though.

Before we start, shall we all gather round the campfire and sing "Kumbaya?"

I think that people know me really well, around here.

However, I think that everybody who's posted in this Thread has some very valid points. :)

Maybe we should ask Alex to create a "getting to know each other" forum?

No, that forum has obviously failed. What we need is some sort of orientation for new members or maybe hand out a yearbook or something.

Or, maybe if someone added an "ignore user" button, the perpetrators of negativity would realize that no one is listening to their antics and so would abandon the board, leaving only the dedicated posters.

Those negative a**holes, they've ruined this site. Damn them and their lack of happiness and sunshine! Damn them!

Actually, I was being serious. Some people *cough*werbert*cough* only visit this site to draw attention to themselves and give others a hard time.

You know, I might have been less beligerent today, but this thread just put me in a bad mood and made me want to spread negative vibes everywhere.
