I actually got a decent grade for english 1010. English is so evil. And yet i am somewhat upset. My final essay, the one i probably spent the least amount of time on, and it was the best score i got out of all my major essays : 195/200. The main difference was I made a butt-load of inline citations, and 'used' one additional outside source than was required. I quote 'used' because I never touched any of the books i used as my outside sources, i found minimal information from the internet, just enough to reference some part of its material, and of coarse was able to find enough info make the works cited entry.

I think I only spent 3 hours total writing the essay. Might sound like a long time for some, but writing is not easy for me, especially on an assigned topic. I wasn't very worried because I calculated hypothetical scores in relation to my total grade, and found that if I got only 15 of 200 points on the assignment, that I would pass the class. I was thinking I would get 50pts at least, and around 100 best case scenario. This I thought in comparison to the effort I put into this assignment, and having not even started it until the night before it was due. And yet the score i received far surpassed all of my other major essays in which i stressed and put at least 2 or 3 times more effort into.

But I'm done with 1010, and only need one other english class for my generals. so i am overall happy.

I do well in English, and it takes me days to finish an essay. I kinda have a procrastination problem though. :P I hate writing essays on topics I don't care about.

I guess I'm good at writing essays, but I absolutely hate doing it unless I'm interested in the subject, I used to have serious problems with writing when I was a child, but I grew out of that, not quite sure how.

I do alright with essays, but they're disorganized. I throw things all over the page, and group up all the matching facts together.

I was never that good at writing essays. Congratulations on your score, though. :)

I just had my final midterm today, for AP US History (I'm exempted from Chemistry and English, and my BC Calc class is disconnected from the school) and now I need to see how well I did on the essays. I think I did good on the DBQ once I got my brain switched from multiple choice to DBQ mode, but I knew nothing on any of the free response topics so I hope my writing gets me at least a few points, even though I had very little content.

I also discovered I can write with both hands at once in opposite directions like Da Vinci, though my left-handedness is obvious. When I focus on my right hand the quality is the same overall between the hands, with the left hand being less connected and the right hand look rougher, but if I focus on my left hand my left hand looks good while my right hand looks like crap.
