Proper Attire for Concert?

So,
I got my tickets to Rockfest in Kansas City in May since my potential love interest noted it is something she enjoys going to.

What is the proper dress for an outdoor music festival?

I usually wear some sort of button shirt with khakis and only really wear businessy shoes.
Probably will be fairly self conscious by sticking out like a sore thumb.

Thoughts?

What sort of rock fest?....if its the kind I am thinking of I have to say such attire simply will not do, I mean I don't really care how people dress but if you don't want to stick out then a band t-shirt or just a plain shirt, or if it must be button up then make it a dark color or white works to some jeans or jean shorts and non buisnessy shoes would probably be your best bet.

Be classy and bring a blanket to sit on as well. If it's wet, bring a plastic sheet to put under the blanket too and to cover yourselves with. Then she won't end up like the girls in the pic above...

A band T-shirt would be perfect. That and jeans and a blanket.

Haha, thanks all. I tend to try to avoid large crowds, hopefully should be fun though.
I always found band shirts and the like to be a little corny, but I'm guessing it's the obvious pick for being associated.

Who cares if they are business like shoes just make sure they are comfortable. You will be there for hours. Don't forget money the last festival I was at the Beer was $6. Thank goodness I don't drink and was happy with water and a turkey wrap. Find out what your allowed to bring in before going.

Don't wear nice businessey shoes, whatever you do. An old pair of boots, runners or skate shoes will do. Anything you won't mind getting wet and muddy if it rains on the day. Believe me you will NOT be able to avoid walking through mud.

Don't bother with a blanket to sit on, it will be too bulky to carry around. You're best bet (if it's wet on the ground) is to take two plastic ponchos; one for sitting on and one to wear if it rains. The really cheap plastic ponchos you can get from the $2 store since they're compact enough to fit in a small bag.

I kind of gathered that, otherwise you'd already regularly be wearing them like I do.
