Anyone else here interested in locks, keys, safes, lockpicking, that sort of thing? Seems like something that would be popular in the AS crowd...

And figuring out how things work, hells yes. BTw you would probably enjoy reading "surely your joking mr feynman" by richard p feynman. If the name is forgien then he was a brillinat physicist, (did the math behind building the a bomb, solved the cause of the challenger accident, taught a freshman level class in physics @ cal tech tha is ledgendary, youo can still download the audio) in any case there is a great deal of discussion on lock picking, safe cracking, u should be able to find it as a pdf file for free.

Yes - locksmith is probably in my top five dream jobs. There was a locksmith training place along the road from my old house growing-up, I've tried to teach myself but lack of opportunity or funds limits that hobby as with all others.

A 12 gauge shotgun is my physical safety (lead slugs), it's also my lock pick too (lead slugs too...).

(Sorry, couldn't resist.)

But yes, a locksmith is on my list of jobs I'd like to do if I were able.

You might check out the community of Keypicking.com. We have an active chat, and the members are always trading locks and advice. We also have several professional locksmiths that are usually in the chat. They could probably answer any questions you might have.

I always carry a set of lockpicks, they can come in handy at times.
I'm actually considering locksmithing as a second career.
