Living below noisy a**holes and having to constantly use earplugs or headphones to reserve my sanity does actually make me lazy at home. The two may not sound like they could possibly be connected, but you'd be surprised.

I want to do more than nothing...but not much.

P.S. I'm 71. That's a factor.

hEDS energy conservation tends to make me work on a boom and bust cycle.

When busted I'm lazy (have severe motivational issues.)
I'm guessing the the boom capitalises on ADHD get up and go.

The only time I was productive was the three years I was employed & I worked lots of overtime when allowed. When in school I took the easiest classes I could when I had any choice & during class I played games a bit on my graphing calculator. I've always been extremely lazy at home & very luckily my girlfriend is the same way as me

Oh, yeah. I really did work my way to two retirements. :? That is an additional factor and was often not a lot of fun.

I'm mostly lazy against my will.

And I don't think it's merely executive dysfunction, "lack of motivation", nor depression.

Likely an unaddressed chronic health issue, definitely from whatever unaddressed chronic sleep issues I still have since childhood.

And since my sentiment towards my own body is utter annoyance of it's "weakness", of course I'd ignore it.

But nope!
My head or whatever part of me that "likes" it easy, with all that comfort and safety likes making this damn body a huge, huge excuse to do nothing.

Now I'm just resentful and utterly disappointed at this existence as I age.

And no, I don't like laziness not because I have to earn it or whatever unworthy self talk; nor because I'm restless -- it's because I wanted more than just to just coping in just existing even in doing nothing.

Which makes no utter sense unless it's a mental health issue (that I discern is not but I kinda wish it is because it would mean that I can solve it myself) or as I theorized; a chronic physical health problem (that I likely cannot solve alone). :x

It's too cold for ice cream. How about some hot chocolate with whipped cream and toasted marshmallows? :)

I hate doing nothing, I will literally pace the same five squares if there's nothing for me to do.

I like having the option to choose, I like setting my own schedule and not being beholden to others to perform to their expectations. Retired after 50 plus years of mostly hard physical labor and usually a full time as well as one or 2 part time jobs. Retirement is great, I highly recommend it! :)
