I'm new to the site but I was interested in how other people think. I was VERY surprised when I found out that thinking in pictures and videos wasn't something that everyone did. "How do you get anything done if you can't physically SEE if happening?" haha

I posted this discussion to see what it's like for other people that think the same way that I do. I write music and usually what I do is think of the emotion that I want to have in the song. I create a little mental video of something that makes me feel that emotion more intensely and then I sit back and watch the video while I do the commentary on my piano.

When people at work ask me to do something that I haven't done before, I need ALL the details. No, not to be annoying, but to get a mental picture of it. If I can't get a complete picture/video of what I'm going to do, then I just can't do it. For NT people, it would be like trying to use a map for directions but having some of the important streets and intersections missing.

^ ^ ^ ^
Did you picture the map?
Or did you imagine using the map to get to a particular street then say "Where's the rest of the map? I'm completely lost now!"

I think in pictures and videos in order to give me ideas to use in my artwork.

Yeah, I think in pictures and videos too. That's a problem when it comes to writing scripts; I never trust anyone else in charge to see the script play out the same way I do in my head.

WTF. Accidental double post, and no delete button.
