Do male dogs like car rides more than females?

I know this seems weird, but I really want to know.

I have never heard of this being true.

I had both and they wanted to sit on my lap while i am driving, even with the male dog being to big to be a lap dog and he only tried that when i was driving.

What difference does it make?

I've never had a female dog in the same car I was in, but I have a male dog who's 16 years old. Generally, he's asleep for most of the trip, in the space down in front of the passenger seat. He's never been really excited about it either way, as I can recall.

My dogs are brother and sister medium-sized hound-lab mutts. The girl dog loves car rides and running and other athletic pursuits. The boy tolerates car rides, only runs to his supper dish and otherwise barely moves. They are spayed/neutered, btw.

Both of my dogs like car rides. They're both males. I think they like the chance to leave the house and the backyard.lolYou should only see how thrilled they are not only to go on rides or walks, but also to the vet. They just love it! As soon as we get there, Moncho runs to greet the other dogs. Paco's a little more sedate and is content to sit down and look around the waiting area.

Through my observation, it would appear to be more of a personality issue. A personality issue which may or may not have something do to with gender playing a role in personality. Some dogs like car rides more than others and for a number of reasons. From the dogs I have witnessed, I have noticed that both genders from these specific dogs observed have enjoyed car rides equally. Of course, this can also vary from breed to breed. It appears that there are far too many variables to properly address this type of question at this time.

Male dogs seem to like riding in fast sports cars more than female dogs. Female dogs seem to enjoy luxury sedans.



Actually, most of mine have just thrown up or peed no matter what sex they were. My husband did have this one large dog that would ride in the back of his pickup truck. He didn't throw up or pee, but he scared me to death. He would stand the whole time, on the freeway and eveything with his head sticking above the cab. He never fell. Did that for years. He's too old and fat to ride anywhere now except laying in the back seat, and he lives with my mother in law now because he kept tearing up neighbors yards and digging out of the fence.
