I have a fair amount in my house with what interests me but in every other way I am minimalistic.

My prediction is there will be an extreme between those on here that are hoarders and idealistic in what they get so they have little.

Its balanced for me i think, but my mom had to throw a lot of stuff away she had been hoarding for years, but my room is neat, there's enough space for everything right now, and i do throw stuff out, i even have space left and my room isn't even that big :)

I would not exactly call myself a hoarder, since my house is not so cluttered that I would need to make aisles like some people even like a couple of my brothers. My older brother brings on new meaning when it comes to hoarding since he had to build another garage to put all of that stuff which most of it is totally useless.

However, before I get to that point, I get rid of stuff like a recently did. And I will still be donating and getting rid of even more stuff. One of my sheds was so full recently that I couldn't even get in it. But, now it is practically empty. I need to sweep it out organizing things and recycle even more stuff which is just a bunch of metal pipes. So I got a ways to go to finish getting rid of the clutter. 8O

I live with my parents & they are hoarders. Some of it is because of their jobs; my dad works in construction & he has LOTs of tools(a whole shed full & lots scattered about all over the house & under the carport) & mom retired from preK teaching a year ago & she has a room full of school stuff. They also like antiquing some & have furniture & things that needs to be fixed up. They're also very diagonalized NTs; they have lots of stuff out that they don't have place for. The ironic thing is that we had lots of fights when I was a kid because I didn't want to pick up the toys I played with in my room. I don't have a lot of stuff. My main interest are things I do on computer, I'm very practical, I'm on disability so I don't have much money, & how messy my parents are is frustrating for me sometimes; I sometimes cant go in the kitchen to heat something up to eat or eat a snack when my parents are in there eating because half the table is filled with paperwork & other stuff. I don't have a lot of stuff; lots of what I do have is picked up in boxes in my closet & I also have empty boxes in there because my dad will want to store stuff in there if he sees space; I have a couple bags of some seasonal house decorations for mom & some board games that never get played that my parents want to hold on to.

Well, let's just say it took all of Saturday and 5 black rubbish sacks to reduce my living room from 'bomb site' to 'untidy'

I like to keep my home tidy but lived-in. Mostly I just keep the things I use or need, but I like to have a couple of things that make it feel like home to me. Like some candles or a vase with flowers. Not many, though.

I have a lot of books (hundreds) in my apartment, that's what I hoard the most because I love books, the sight of them, smell of them, what is written on the pages. If I go anywhere that sells books I will inevitably end up buying some, and the local library has a cart with free books and I have to stay away from it or I'll take some of them home with me. I have four bookshelves full and they would be scattered everywhere if I didn't also like order and space, I have many more books in storage and at my dad's house. I also collect knicknacks but they are small and have their places. I have stuffed animals in my closet, in my room and in the living room. Papers, notebooks, sketchbooks and other things of the sort are stored in my desk and under my bed (which has drawers.) I do have trouble getting rid of register slips from having bought things, but eventually they get sorted through and disposed of. They don't take up too much room. My DVDs and video games are a meager collection.

I wouldn't say there is too much in my apartment but it all depends on how one determines "much" as that is a note of comparison, and compared to one of my aunts who is determinably a hoarder; there's hardly space to walk in her home and she keeps collecting more, and my dad; who is not quite as much of one but the living room does not feel like a place for living with all the tools, papers, odds and ends he keeps piled up in there; my apartment is nice and neat and practically empty. I'm not counting my mom's room as that is outside of my concern.

We have 3,000 square feet of house to fill, not counting the back yard. So, a lot. :?

I don't have a lot of stuff in my house. Most of my stuff consists of used textbooks and clothes. Books wise, I either donate or give away to people who needs them. I do the same with clothes. I just donate clothes in good condition to charities.

Not much. I regularly go through my stuff and get rid of the things I don't want/need. I hate clutter so I always try to de-clutter my space.

There is a ton of crap in my house, but most of it isn't mine.

My ideal home would be a room with a mattress and a computer and a stack of books and a box of knitting/jewelry supplies and a few outfits in the closet. Oh, and a bathroom.

I am in the same situation. It's awful not to be able to clean up ur own space, because u know that someone else will fill it up. My house is at the point of getting moldy and full of insects. I am trying to think of a way to get out of here before I go crazy.
