For example: not being able to drive a car or bike or bus out of anxiety issues or sensory overload or motoric/coordination issues?

I personally can't drive a bike, car or motorcycle, so I'm all dependant on the bus.

Yeah that is one of the reasons I don't have a drivers licence or a car, I don't even want to risk driving in traffic...and well it doesn't make much sense to me to try and get a drivers license or a car to only drive not in traffic......not to mention I cant afford it.

most of the time i'm ok but today i was a bottle of nerves and that eventually turned in to anger because of what someone did around me. the driving itself isn't my problem, it's the people around me that don't look where they are going and aren't paying attention to what they are doing. instead they are playing with their phone, radio, GPS, or whatever else to distract them. like the guy that tried to run me off the road by nearly slamming into my front end changing lanes without looking.

No issues here, except for my tendency to be fairly aggressive. My car weighs 1690lbs, has 55 hp and I am not intimidated by even the biggest of SUVs. The small size lets me fit in to holes in traffic that you would be crazy to attempt in a normal sized vehicle. I pretty much terrify my passengers when I am in "the zone". It's odd, but I feel invincible in a tiny car, but unsafe in a larger one like, say, a Honda Civic.

It's doesn't bother me much, unless some idiot comes into my blind spot when I'm about to switch lanes. :x

Yes, very much. Granted, a lot of it could be due to being a new driver, but I do think I had a harder time learning to drive than most people my age. I could not learn to parallel park to save my life, and I had more than a couple meltdowns while behind the wheel of the driver's training vehicle. The most recent was on my last day of driving before I took the written test for Segment 1. We were coming back from my practice when the instructor told me to turn left. I have problems following verbal instruction, especially while nervous, so of course I turned right. The instructor yelled at me and my eyes started to tear up and twitch. I stopped speaking and drove right back to the school. He could not figure out why it was so impossible for me to learn to parallel park.

I never did get my license, partly because of the cost of insurance. Really, I didn't want to. I just don't feel comfortable driving, especially by myself.

I didn't used to, but about 15 years ago I started being afraid of driving or riding on the freeway. Also big trucks scare the crap out of me. I have to go up a 2 lane county road from time to time, which is long and has nothing on either side but pine trees for miles and miles and miles. The logging trucks use that road too. The speed limit is 55 and I usually go about 50, but it wouldn't matter if I did go 55 because everybody else, including the big trucks go at least 65 - 70. I hate seeing a big truck coming up behind me because they will get right on my tail until they can go around me and I almost have a panic attack from it.

I'm actually much better in city traffic than I am on the open road now. When I was young I used to love to hit the freeway and just punch it. I loved driving fast. Now you couldn't pay me enough to do that.

I'm old.

I used to have a lot of issues with driving in traffic. My Aspie spouse has even more. No patience! But I got over mine to some degree when I just had to drive in traffic every day, no way around it except a carpool where, when it was my turn, I had to drive with a lot of other people in the car, which for me was worse!

I was lucky at one point that I had a job with flexible work hours, and if I chose to get up really early I could miss the worst traffic. Later, when I had a really long commute, I found a vanpool where there were two regular drivers so I didn't have to ever drive the van, only my own car to the park and ride place where we met. I still didn't like the crowded van, especially all the snoring in the mornings. But not needing to drive made up for it.

When I did have to drive in traffic, I made sure I had music that I enjoyed, that was soothing. When sitting in traffic I tried to occupy my mind in a way that I would still be aware of what was going on with the flow of traffic.

I was trying to write fiction back then, so sometimes I'd go over a bit of dialog, or think about a plot problem I needed to solve. Or I'd play music that I liked to sing to - and the only place I like to sing is ALONE, so driving my car alone was a good time for that.

I also played at developing a kind of sixth sense about what other drivers were going to do, learned to pay attention if someone did something odd - and found that really helped because quite often they were the drivers who would do something I needed to watch out for.

I worked on developing the attitude that everyone else was also anxious to get to work or get home, so I wasn't the only one this slow-down was bothering, and there was nothing I could do about it but be patient and alert. I also would rather get where I was going safely than do anything stupid in anger that wouldn't be safe. I let people who were in a hurry go around me if they wanted. I just figured it was more important to them than to me to get there fast.

It's just kind of a "go with the flow" attitude, and once I was able to maintain that, which took a conscious effort for some time, I ceased to be as bothered by traffic.

My main issue with driving in traffic is not anxiety, but that people irritate me and then I become aggressive. I rarely experience heavy traffic, though, because I live in a small town surrounded by other small towns.

I'm too scared to drive and don't have anyone to teach me and I can't ride a bike. I walk or take the bus.

Sometimes in heavier traffic. I think I worry more about people not paying attention by talking or texting, or doing something besides driving. I used to drive a lot faster, but now I feel like I need to be a more defensive driver.
