i am having a problem in my family at the moment and here is the scenario

i took my bike too the shop in town too get it fixed
the day after i picked it up when it was repaired and it my dad money (he had too pay for it over the phone), it was a pain having too push my broken bike up too town since i can't drive

1 day later my brother asked me if he could use my bike so he could pick his car up from a friends house

my brother returned with my bike in the back of his car. he took it out and i discoverd that he broke the breaks while putting it in his car and that the back tire was punctured. my brother gave me an attitude when trying too repair it and i got angry with him. he suggested i take my bike up too the shop again the next day too get it fixed.

2 days late i made my dad take my bike up too town in his car too get it repared but when he found out the breaks were broken he got angry with me. At first i lied on my brothers behalf saying "i crashed my bike thats why its broken" my dad threatend not too take it up for repairing told him the him the truth about my brother borrwong my bike.

this got my dad angry so he started threatning too take money out of my brothers bank account too get it fixed. of course though this will cause a rift between me and my bro.

when my bro found out that i told on him he was angry with me saying "why didn't you just take up the bike too get repaired like i told you too?"

who do you think is wrong in this sitatuation? do u think i should have kept my mouth shut and take it back up too the shop instead of causing tension between people in the family?

I think your brother needs to grow up. If he broke the bike it's his problem to fix it.

How did he manage to break the bike in the first place? Did he put it in his car with the jaws of life ffs? He should have offered to pay for it immediately. You have nothing to be concerned for, you did nothing wrong

^^this^^

Not only should he have not gotten angry with you for telling the truth, when he's old enough to have a car and if he wanted to keep it between the two of you, HE should have taken it up to get repaired in HIS car and he also should have paid for it (not sure if he did or not from your post).

For him to dump it on you to get repaired and then get mad when you don't take the blame for breaking it is extremely selfish, immature, and arrogant. He was completely trying to take advantage of you.

You were nice enough to loan your freshly repaired bike to him so his life could be easier and in return he showed a complete lack of respect by trashing it and again by refusing to take responsibility.

He broke your bike, he needs to pay to fix it. Period.
Furthermore, never loan it to him again. Infact, never loan any of your belongings to him again.

Well I don't know, there seems to be a lot of toing and froing. I bet the guy at the bike shop's making a mint out of you.

Maybe you should learn to fix it yourself and then make sure nobody else gets their filthy hands on it.

And as for who's right or wrong, I think you've all got a part to play.

Tell your brother "you break it, you buy it"

Your brother should be paying to get the bike fixed. It looks like your brother will never grow up.

Your brother is responsible. How you could see it otherwise I don't know.

What he is doing is using your low self-esteem against you in order to shunt the blame for something that is clearly his fault onto you. You called him on it by bringing it to the attention of your father. It was well within your rights to do so as your brother would not do the right and honorable thing. That your dad will forcibly take the money from him is irrelevant as the money should have come from him in the first place.

In the future, learn to stand up to others when your interests are at stake. It may well take you doing it a few times, but eventually they will start to fear you (in a good way) and think twice about taking advantage of you. It took me almost 30 years to learn this, but once I figured it out, people stopped taking advantage of me. Remember that you have just as much value as anyone else in this world and your interests are just as important as theirs.
