I was taking a shower this evening and unwrapped a new bar of Lever 2000 soap. The scent of the stuff instantly had visions of printers FAX'ing and copying away. Huh!?!?! Why the heck would they make office scented soap? Hmm. Figured it out after I got out the shower and looked at the package, which was labeled "rain fresh" Okay, but why am I thinking printers when I use the stuff instead of a rainstorm? AAAH, Ozone! Printers and copiers make lots of ozone...a pleasant smell I do say so myself, and so do rainstorms!

Ever notice how your memory is so directly connected to scents like this?

Funny you mention that... when my daughter was an infant, I kept smelling fresh bread periodically. Turned out it was just that she'd peed herself. It didn't have that stale, acrid, urine-ey smell. It smelled, I swear to whomever, like freshly baked bread.

edit: hit submit too quick... ozone-scented soap'd be kinda neat. Also, new-car-smell soap would be just awesome.

Hmm, maybe it was yeast you were smelling, or it could have been some sort of wheat-based material in her diaper that absorbed the wetness.

i know of volcanic pine oil, it reminds me of a freshly paved road or diesel fuel. because of its petroleum content and turpentine.

my dad just loves that smell!!

soaps like in public bathrooms that are in a pump on wall remind me of fax and copier smells. that smell of copiers and printers (xerox) remind me alot of middle and elementry school.
