Longest term goal, as the prayer towards the end of the Divine Liturgy goes...
"For a good defense before the dread judgement seat of Christ."
Obviously that's a pretty....vast...goal, but yeah.
Anyway, for "littler" goals that hopefully fit in with the first one, uh...
Well, really short term, I wish to be good at figure skating. Which is hard and some would say impossible starting at 21. But it's something I'd like to push for. To be at a high fluency in it and not quit. I'm having my first "rough patch" and with many of my other hobbies/passions, I've had to or decided to quit them when the going got rough. Skating I don't wanna quit because of a rough patch (though my rough patches would have, to be fair, probably caused most others to quit, and many people wouldn't have even attempted them in the first place.)
Long term, I'd like to have my own land that I've paid for with my own house that I've paid for, and not has a 30 year mortgage and be indebted for life. I either want a property in Vermont, Maine, or New Hampshire, or in Japan, or both. I want to start various business ventures, maybe with skating, maybe with cars, maybe with Chinese herb farming. Something like that. I want my own business, though, even if it doesn't make a ton of money, I'd enjoy it a lot. I don't feel like I need lots of money, as I like used things, I wear all used clothes, and wanna drive old cars forever. I like old cars better anyway.
I'd like to find love and get married and probably have kids, too. How attainable this is, I do not know. That and I'd like a happy marriage, and don't want it to end in divorce like my parent's marriage did and 50% of marriages do. I do not want to "settle" and marry someone who will leave me unhappy everyday. I don't want to marry someone with incompatible views of me. Going with the old cars and stuff, I don't want a woman who feels the need to live above our means, or feels that I must make 200K a year or something for a "lifestyle" either.
Other than that, I want to be able to wake up and not answer to others. To be able to do what I want as long as I don't infringe upon others right to do the same. I wanna have a bunch of land, have a bunch of old cars to work on, stuff like that, and be left alone basically.
