I saw about 30 seconds of the Olympics the other day when visiting an assisted living center.

It looked like figure skating.

In general, though, I'm not much big on the Olympics. Or on watching tv.

What I really liked when I was a kid was the Wide World of Sports.

Also, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. That was true greatness.

No, I don't watch anything on TV.

I've been watching some coverage of the two hockey tournaments though. Most of the sports don't really interest me.

I have watched some cross-country skiing by women and some hocky games, also by women, for some reason. I am not a bif fan of watching sport on TV. I rather participate in sports activities myself.

Canadian women's hockey got silver.

Hopefully the men can deliver.

I am. I'm constantly in front of the TV.

Luge is my favourite sport. Germany's very good at it.

I don't want them to end. I'm going to cry during the closing ceremonies. It happens every time. I cry when the flame goes out.

I watched a lot of it.

While I like both the Summer and Winter Olympics I like the Winter ones more.

Outside of hockey I call myself a once every four years fan of the other sports.

I find a lot of these sports require more skill and coordination then the ones i watch on a regular basis and thus requires much more disciplined training. As a klutz these performances are jaw dropping to me. Most professional teams have 20 to 50 people on their rosters. For a lot of the national teams at the Olympics only a handful make it so these people really are the elite.

It is much more tension filled and dramatic. Unlike most sports if you blow it you get another chance next year. The Olympics are once every four years. At that point you might be too old. And often it comes down to a few minutes where the slightest error meant that once in four year opportunity is gone.

I miss it and the escape it provided.

Those were incredible tournaments.

You've got to love the hypocrisy of NTs. Telling you it's unhealthy, creepy or just plain wrong to have a special interest. and then *they* won't shut up about sports for months.

Of course, if your special interest happens to be sports, then it's only unhealthy that *you* like it, not them.

Some strange things in that game. The game is played on the anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. Then for most of the game the Canadians are so dominant the Americans don’t look like they belong on the same ice. The refs miss literally the Americans having two many men on the ice. A ref gets hit and prevents an American icing. Then with time running down the Americans take a penalty.

People are saying Canada is the better team but Hellebuyck counts as a member of Team USA

The Czech strategy worked, I guess.
