Did anyone here do black Friday or have in the past?

I just went Thursday night and I didn't find it bad. I think I could do this every year and it wasn't like what I hear in the media. It was crowded but there was no pushing and shoving, no stealing from other peoples carts, no aggressive behavior. I went for the experience but I actually enjoyed it and could do it every year now. I got some stuff for my son for his birthday or Christmas and I had to stand in the check out line for an hour. but to wait to get inside wasn't long because the line went pretty fast. Then I went to Best Buy and saw the long line there and decided "forget it" and went home. I didn't want to be out all night. Plus I have enough video games and movies and CDs.

The media looks across the country for a few incidents and sensationalizes them.

Most incidents seem to involve loss-leader items at very low prices but in limited quantities. People tend to get into altercations over these items, but not much else. The bad publicity from incidents started doing more harm than good for retailers a few years ago (people killed in stampedes at the doors and stuff) and they backed off. The process seems to be managed much better now.

I was in a store on Thursday and had no problems at all. Of course, I was buying a pair of scissors, so maybe people left me alone?

I think Black Friday is best done on the internet. No crowds of people, more product, better prices, business done right.

I would rather pay full price months ahead, then go through Black Friday. * that's just me though *

I've been actually afraid of doing Black Friday, because of all the stuff you hear about it on the news. My older brothers and my dad were going to go, but they all ended up falling asleep, lol. Plus I was full from all the food I ate at dinner, so the idea of going out late to crowded stores made me tired :P

There's no way I'll ever do Black Friday shopping. It's just way too crazy for me.

My mum told me that she did some Black Friday shopping. I thought that was brave of her.

I wouldn't go Black Friday shopping unless it's on the Internet.
