I like to see the world better than I like to hear things.

Being blind is much more debilitating and isolating, deaf people can live independently and an entire culture of their own

My special interests each involve one sense or the other so either would be bad...but seeing as my primary involves music and it's my coping method I'd choose being blind. It'd be frustrating at first but, I could get used to it eventually.

Even though it looks like I'm the only one 8O

Why not both? It's better than being dead.

I used to think I'd rather be blind, because of music. But now I think being blind would be way worse. It would be hard to do anything independently, and reading and posting on forums would be a struggle.

Blind I think. Being deaf would drive me emotionally insane. In lue of people I need music.

It's a hard call though, since I'm an artist who likes to draw, esp with a digital means. So I need my sight for that, but at the same time music keeps me sane and inspires me in the first place, so idk.

Neither. I'd miss both Hogan's Heroes and The Kinks.

I'm already half deaf and I know sign language so I may as well be completely deaf.
Wouldn't be a big change.

due to the exorbitant cost of telephones coupled with the relative worthlessness of what people have to say, i would prefer to be deaf. then i could order a half price telephone with only a mouthpiece and no earpiece which would allow me to participate more completely with whoever rings me up.

however it is tempting to choose the blind option also because then i could prove to any policeman that i did not see the red light that they try to book me for going through.

i am locked in indecision so i did not answer the poll.

what a dreadful poll! ;) I'd rather not think about it. but it must be said that vision takes up most of the brain's capacity at least while awake, so that must be due to it being the most important sense in the grand scheme of things. but without music life would be somewhat tasteless. it is an impossible thing to ponder. ach! :eew:

I was born with a rare low vision disorder. I think I'd pick Blind sense I have sh!tty eyesight anyways but if I could have normal eyesight, I'd pick Death.

Probably deaf. Using a computer would be easier with just vision than just sound and I have a deaf auntie so there are plenty of members of the family who know how to deal with deafness.
