In my opinion, I really hate flying.
With the way most airlines are run, most bigwig CEOs & cronies would rather care less if you lose baggage or if you are stuck on the tarmac for an indeterminable amount of time.

I have been on a Greyhound only once.
It was for a field trip. It was awesome!

Tell your travel stories.

I don't drive anyway and as it is, we don't get many public buses. So I'd go for buses since I need a ride.

Not public buses, more like Greyhounds.

Maybe trains those are cool. I can't seem to make up my mind. I already submitted a vote for buses. :x

Well...I HATE buses. Especially public buses because I always seem to miss my stop.
Planes are scary. I don't like them. I am worried that there would be a terrorist on the plane...I guess i've watched too many plane crash movies.

So my choice would be trains. In NZ, they are less crowded than buses, they stop when they're supposed to and i've never known of a train to get hijacked here by terrorists.

I, too, hate flying. Buses are not exactly fun, but I don't mind them. Trains, on the other hand, are almost obsession-worthy.

I heard a radio program about a transcontinental Canadian train that provides live entertainment for the passengers. Apparently, there is a whole group of musicians who basically live on the train. Now, that is my dream job.

I'd choose buses, for a very obvious reason.

Aircraft are great to fly in and satisfying to work on.

Flying scares me. Planes and Trains are too loud. I dont drive (not because I can't, I have my lisence, it just stresses me out with everything I have to try and pay attention to) so I ride the bus everyday across town for classes and work. I like the schedules.

When I was younger I used to hate the idea of trains - they just seemed too scary and dangerous and so I've never ridden in one.

But I've come around now. If I needed to travel somewhere I would consider taking the train, it seems like less of a hassle than flying these days and probably a lot more comfy and enjoyable.

I never minded flying, in some cases I thought it was/is actually kind of fun :)

Buses on the other hand, I still kind of don't like them. They always seem noisy, dirty, unsafe, etc and it always seems like the bus driver narrowly misses hitting things. On the other hand my university's buses are newer and they keep them well maintained, so they're actually not as bad, though.

As for grayhounds and the like, I don't have a whole lot of experience with them either, but seriously, I can't imagine being on a bus for more than 5 or 6 hours

I dislike all forms of public transportation. I've generally found them to be poorly-maintained, cramped, loud and dirty (pretty much my idea of a nightmare).

I chose trains because they're easier to romanticize.

When I was young, my parents took us to tour a steam-powered passenger train. It was long out of service and had been turned into a museum. The pictures in the dining car made it appear that the accommodations were first class and fairly comfortable for the time. The passengers in the photos were well-dressed and well-groomed.

That tour didn't mirror my later modern train-riding experience at all (the modern passenger equivalent was poorly-maintained, cramped, loud, dirty and nightmarish), but the imagery stuck with me.

Planes, trains and buses, in that order.

Why so many planes on the poll, it's obvious that more of us like trains on this forum beside 1 or 2 ppl.

:x I can't believe I made an oopsie submitting for buses like that.

I can't seem to vote on this, the only one I have used was the bus, I have never been on a plane before (I would love to) and the only train I have been on was the little train ride they have at Trinity Loop park near where I live, real trains stopped when I was very little and all the tracks are taken up now. I would love to ride a real train though.

I used to like flying when I was a kid, but the novelty faded long ago. I enjoy riding the bus, but only short distances. Trains are still something of an adventure for me.
