Couldn't find this thread, so I'm making it again. I kinda would like to show off my desktop, since I think it is cool.

Yeah its cool indeed. I like your style!
What is your OS? How do you bring on those icons where Firefox and Skype is kept in such a cool way?

Your Girlfriend? I was thinking "either you gott a swedish girlfriend now who did this on your backyard, or its located in china", lol

She made it in China, yes. :)

Sometimes I think Vista must have been made by Hitler... :/

It reminds of me something I read on a forum once:

Person 1: Vista is a slow, flashy and bossy piece of useless crap, and should never have been released.
Person 2: So it's just like the rest of america! :D

My OS is 64-bit Vista, home premium. Came with the computer. The side gadgets on the right are free, however the theme isn't. I've been kinda obsessed with Sins of a Solar Empire lately, and since I finally got my excess funds check I got some mods from Stardock. The thing that keeps the icons in that manner is free though, it's ObjectDock. The screen shot which I made into the desktop background is from one of the battles I've fought recently in the aforementioned game.

Glad you like it. I spent a fair chunk of time last night customizing stuff so that it was a coherent theme and not an admixture of randomness.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Yes, I do know what you mean. On my old laptop I have icons all over the desktop that were once useful.
However, for my desktop computer, I'm trying to keep resolved to keep it looking sharp,
and since I've only owned it for 3 month it isn't so difficult. However, it will probably be arrayed as my laptop at some time...
perhaps when it is also 4 years old I will have items gathered as such.

I think you do the arrangement above to be unique though, and not out of laxity as I eventually do.

Background Pic: Lelouch and CC from Code Geass

Dock: E-mail & Chat, Internet, Music, Pictures, Microsoft Office, Videos, Security, Maintenance, Help & Support, Recycle Bin, and Internet Explorer.

Sidebar: Weatherbug for Laramie, Wyoming; Countdown timer until midterms at UW; News ticker; and CPU Meter.

Program Shortcuts:
Trend Micro Antivirus
RealPlayer
QuickTime
iTunes
Google Earth
eBay
Adobe Reader 9
VLC Media Player
BlueJ (a Java programming environment used in my Computer Science class.)
Final Fantasy VII, PC edition (a pirated version.)

PS: My taskbar looks old-fashioned for Windows Vista, that's because I disabled most of the flashy stuff in the Windows GUI to free up resources, so that my laptop wouldn't be so slow.

and so did I this day due to your thread. I honestly never used my desktop. I always pass it by and enter all my stuff via START as I have felt it unconvenient to use the desktop as shortcut for my activities. But you made me find this object thingy you got, so thanks a lot!!

This is currently my motivational desktop image because I may have a chance to go to Sri Lanka next year.
Not a screen shot. I don't know how to do that-just a Google image.
