Having lived at least a two-hours drive at the most from the Canadian border, I've come to realize how much I love the country.

Why do I love Canada? Let's see.......
1) Multiculutralism. Possibly even more so than its southern neighbor, you can find lots of people of various races, and you won't get discriminated against.

2) Sports. Canadian football and hockey are my two faves, personally, but baseball seems to be making sort of a comeback in the country. There's lots to enjoy as far as sports goes in Canada.

I'm sure there are other things I love about Canada, but I can't put my finger on them ATM!

I live in Edmonton, Alberta. I like Canada except for the freezing weather. It's too cold here but I look past it. It can be great.

I can easily see myself living in Vancouver someday, fell in love with it instantly. I love Seattle too, but I feel a strong pull to be a Canadian and a Vancouverite.

It's cold, but it's beautiful, it's cosmopolitan, it's architectural, it's clean, it's modern, it's historical, it's British, it's Asian, it's green (and Green), it's Metric, it's tasty, it's civic, it's cultured, it's well-planned, it's Olympic, it's healthy, it's got ales and tea, and good chefs, and lots of points of interest, and a big blue bay, and mountains and snow, and sculptures and transit, and it's foreign and Canadian and fascinating, and the whole thing is just full of win, as far as I'm concerned.

As a European, I've been wondering how easy/difficult it is to move permanently from the US into Canada or vice versa. I mean in such a case that there is no compelling reason, like family ties or something. If you just feel like it, what sort of paper work is needed? Is it possible that either country says "No!" to a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record?
