Are there any members in Asia?

Just curious. I really hadn't noticed anyone mention they reside in any part of Asia, but then not everyone puts that in their profiles anyway. Since I used to study taekwondo and work with Koreans I would particularly love to correspond with a Korean. Writing to a North Korean would really be cool especially, but I doubt anyone there, but govt has access to a computer as most citizens are lucky just to get something to eat. I don't know why but I think about North Korea a lot and feel so sorry for what the people there go through. I imagine its just as bad in some other countries, but I just worry about the NK's a lot for some reason.

Never seen one. There are atleast two members who are Asian but
they are in America I think.

Could try Googling, but limiting search to within this domain by specyfing, ''site:wrongplanet..net" and using keywords such as Location, Asia, China, Japan, Korea etc....

Theres at least 2 from the middle east I know of and talk to, one from Lebannon one from Israel, though I figure thats not the part of Asia you are talking about.

I was born in Japan but live in Hawaii now.

Is Lebanon and Israel considered part of Asia really?? Does that mean I am Asian since I am half-Jew?

How old were you when you left Japan? How would you compare the Japanese cultures in Japan and Hawaii?

I recently read an article if I remember correctly it was written by a woman who had been adopted in infancy from Japan by a American Caucasian couple. The parents believed in the very failed theology of ignoring the adopted childs culture and trying to make her think she was Caucasian. So she grew up unhappy but then met this Vietnamese-American guy, they married, moved to Hawaii and for once were happy. She portrayed Hawaii as this Asian paradise in America. Is it really like that?

That part of Asia is always trying to decide what it is but go to the other side of the middle east and they are more decidedly Asian. Technically it is on the Asian continent I think but they have influences from Europe, Asia, and Africa, not to mention their own, so... :shrugs:.

I was three when my family moved here. My father was actually born and raised here. My mother is from Japan.

About being some sort of Asian paradise, read this article and look at the picture. That's a typical fourth grade class here.

Ahh those kids look so cute. I'm assuming what someone told me that non-Asians should not move to Hawaii because they are not wanted there might hold some warrant. My friend claims strangers would scream "Howl-lee" at her and some even spit at her. I'm sure I didn't spell that right. But any way after she told me that there was no way I was giving in to my co-worker's attempts to get me to move with her. It's bad enough being hated for being a nerd. I couldn't handle that much more rejection. Then she mentioned the bad parking situation on the big island and that further solidified my decision. Come to think of it it wouldn't be good to live on an island completely surrounded by water when one can't swim.

I've got to tell you what you heard is a complete exageration. I live on the big island. All parking here is free and there's lots of it. There are no parking meters at all. THe parking on Oahu is a completely different story. There parking is a big problem.

As for racism against white people, yeah it does happen but not to the point your friend describes. For a good discussion of it read this thread in a Hawaii forum I like to peruse. There are other threads there on this issue.
