I was mostly offline from early April through August. First my old PC was acting up, and eventually died. Then my new PC wouldn't take dial-up. :( Two different methods failed. First a thingy that was attached on the outside worked for a few days, and then died. Then a board put inside needed drivers downloaded from the I-net. A relative took my PC to his house to use his DSL connection to download the drivers. He also managed to download a destructive virus that killed the new PC. :x Fortunately, it was under warranty, so it was repaired for free. :D I finally threw in the towel over continuing with my cheap dial-up, and got DSL. Glad I did. It is LOTS faster than my old dial-up service. When I had dial-up the pages took way too long to load, so I had to limit my visits to some of the sites, including here at WP. I only visited about once a month here. Now I am able to log in here at least once a week because pages load so much faster. I also can watch videos now. With dial-up, even a few minutes long video took an hour or two to down load, so I rarely watched even the short ones. Now I watch movies and TV online. It's great! Should have switched sooner, but my dial-up was a lot cheaper--$5 a month. Fortunately, my DSL provider was having a special promotion price when I signed up. :D

Even when I had only dial-up though, I still managed to visit and post here enough to reach veteran status. What I want to know now, is: What's above "veteran" rank and how many posts are required to reach it?

:D Glad you are up to speed. I used to keep a book handy while waiting on dial-up to load--otherwise it was just torturous.
