I am currently the primary caregiver for my 92-year-old mother, as I stated in my introductory post last week. At the moment, I'm having a particularly difficult time dealing with the stress and confinement of this job. The last week or so have been hell. I'm trying to get the woman to move around more, because if I don't, she just lays in the hospital bed, which is in the living room. It was prescribed for by her doctor to keep her legs elevated (she had bad swelling that was causing major issues. I don't think the doctor ever envisioned she would wind up spending most of her time in it.)

I feel a but guilty for raising my voice at her today to get up and get moving around if she wanted to be in any shape to make her appointment with the eye doctor tomorrow. But sometimes it gets entirely infuriating. I know that she could do far better if she only moved around more and regained some strength.

Sorry, just need to vent a little, I guess, and perhaps see if there was anyone else out there in a similar situation who could offer any advice or words of wisdom.
