There are so many poems I wish I could memorize - does anybody have any memory tricks for that kind of thing?

recite then while listening to a favourite song, or sing them to a favourite tune? I have memorised thousands of lyrics because I love the words and the music.

If the words can be visualized than assoicaite them with object in a house. Maybe as you first walk in the door. Remeber the visualizable words this way and perhaps you can guess the non visualizable words from non-visual memory of the poems. I have used the 1-10 memey trick
1 is bun
2 is shoe
3 is tree
4 is door
5 is hive
6 is stick
7 is heaven
8 is gate
9 is wine
10 is pen

so if the first word was Clint eastwood i would visualize him laying on a giant hambuger bun, etc.

...no real tricks for poems...I just can do lists of numbers and patterns well. lol

If you focus on a few at a time and read them repetively for a week or so? You might not remember everything but some of the better passages might stick with you.
