Washing Dishes Quickly and Properly

I could use some pointers.

fill sink halfway with soapy water- this leaves rom for rinsing

Wash dishes in this order:

1)least dirty dishes- the ones that have no food stuck to them (like drinking glasses)

2)dishes that have some food stuck to them but it can be removed (like plates)

3)dishes that have food cooked on to them (like pans). If the food doesn't come off, leave them to soak in the soapy water for an hour or more.

The order of washing from least dirty to most dirty saves you from having to repeatedly change the wash water.

^ Don't you have to rinse with clean water rather than with dirty sink water?

Yes. Filling the sink only halfway leaves room for a clean water rinse of the washed dish.

Like so:

Wash the dish submerged in the soapy water.
When it is clean, lift it out of the soapy water and hold it above the water line while rinsing it under the faucet.
If there are so many dishes that the sink fills before finishing then empty and refill (halfway) to continue.

Some kitchens have double sinks with one sink for washing and one sink for rinsing. But a lot of kitchens don't (and mine doesn't) so I gave a method that assumes a single sink. It would be a lot easier with a double sink but those require quite a lot of kitchen space.
