How do we get our signature to show?

I have it set in my profile settings, I just don't know what it means by "type it in HTML form" (because we're all programmers and otherwise understand HTML) so it's stuck there and won't translate to my posts. Can someone free my signature from its prison?

Nevermind, I was unaware that we have to do all of the above PLUS check a box to show our signature.

And we have to do it with every single post? Is there a way that we can have it defaulted to show our signature? I've been on a dozen forums and have never seen anything like this one. (And that's both a good and a bad thing)

Edit: Nevermind again, I found that you have to go to your profile and scroll down and hit "yes" under always attach my signature. Gah!
