A magnetic field that would lift the mass of a human, would send any smaller mass flying, garbage can lid, glasses, belt buckles.
Magnets have very low direction, It is an apple shaped field or U shaped loop. It can be done on a tabletop, if the object stays centered in the field.
A human wearing magnets would be an odd shaped field, attracted or repelled, the largest surface would aline with the force. Maybe lead shoes?
Any other conducter in the field would change the balance, parked cars, manhole covers, power lines.
The magnets would have to be above or below, and large. They would wipe out any computer within blocks.
No one said how high, a whole other problem.
If I could lift a human on the street, I could put a shipping container out to the Clark Belt.
A holographic projection could be moved from one building to another with two small lasers.
Perhaps David Blaine is just light hearted?
