Happy-New-Year-rant
Today was the first day at work for me and almost all of my colleagues in 2015.
And, you know what happens on that day, everybody first says "Happy new year!" when they see each other for the first time in a new year. It pisses me off. I mean, we all know, it's a new year now. We've all celebrated it with bigger or smaller parties and with fireworks and alcoholic drinks. That's always nice, but now this new year is already five days old. Why do I still have to wish a "happy new year" to every person I meet? There's nothing special about saying it. It has no real meaning, it's just something people say. To everybody, not only to people they like. I hate when people say things they don't mean. And especially this one is so meaningless. Because everybody says it all the time. It's just superfluous. They could as well stop saying it.
Blah. I'm not seriously mad, just felt like ranting about it. And I'm sooooo happy there's this place where people might actually understand it. ![]()
^i suppose you say 'former' cause you did end up socking him in the mouth....?
i looked outside my window january 1st, it looked the same to me. it's not as if ol' earth hasn't done this billions of times before. hooray for mundane-ness. besides, i don't (can't) drink, that rules out perhaps the biggest reason we celebrate it..
today i overheard some guys saying "i haven't seen you in a year!" - referencing the fact that today was the first day back from a vacation. no no no no, not true, not possible, shut up.
