Yesterday, at night, I got locked out of my dad's house, and no one was home, so I layed down on the porch for more than an hour, then I walked around my court, and I saw a beautiful cat, so I layed down on the street with him and pet him and rubbed his belly, and then it gave me the courage to go to my neighbor's house and ask to use the phone. I knew she had a dog, so I chose to go to her house. She let me watch TV, and call my mom. Her dog Tigger jumped up on me and layed on my lap until my mom picked me up. Turns out I have better social skills than I thought!

Yes! Once I locked myself out of my house while I was cooking. I lived on this really quiet street, where people generally kept to themselves. It was agonizing to think of knocking on someone's door to ask to use their phone and call my landlord. But I finally chose this one lady who always said hello and seemed friendly. She invited me in, served me tea and an apple, and let me use her phone. Whew, what a relief!

Even if you felt traumatized afterward, you at least know that you were able to look after yourself. That must be reassuring, in the long view  . I felt a little foolish for locking myself out, that time, but my neighbor said she'd done it once, herself, so that I didn't feel too bad.

I remember getting locked out of my apartment, and just sitting and waiting until my girl friend (at the time) came home. 7 or 8 hours. Didn't want to bug the landlord.

Well, I was with my mom at a ZZ Top concert in Omaha, Nebraska. At one point, I had to go to the bathroom and I refuse to use outhouses. We wandered about the parking lot trying to find our car (It was a HUGE parking lot where we got lost) until a family showed up and gave us a ride. We told the family what the car looked like and its license plate number and we eventually found it and went home.

I've got a fairly similar story. About three summers ago and two neighborhoods ago, I was at home eating a TV dinner while watching Full House. The episode was "Lucky Be a Lady Part 2". (Don't ask.) Anyway, I had finished up my TV dinner and went to go throw the remaints away in the metal trashcan in the garage. I closed the door to the garage behind me because Mom doesn't want the cats going out when she's not home. Anyway, after I threw away the container and stuff, I tried opening up the door, but it was locked. So I left the garage, and walked around the neighborhood in intense heat to see if I could use the phone to call my grandparents to unlock the front door. And note that I didn't have shoes on and the pavement was scorching hot. Anyway, after about an hour of walking around the neighborhood (no one I knew was home), I decided to ask my neighhors that lived across the street from me. I had once been friends with their daughter, Stephanie, but we had nothing at all in common so we had sort of stopped talking to each other, even though she was very nice. Well, I went to her house and her dad was more than happy to let me use their phone. In the meantime while I was waiting for my grandpa, I hung out with Stephanie and we had a great time catching up on everything. Then they invited me to go craft shopping at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby with them! My grandpa had unlocked my door, so I went in, called my mom to tell her, and had a great rest of the afternoon with Stephanie and her family. So even though my feet were extremely blistered, but turned out to be really bad at the beginning turned out incredibly good in the end. :)

I got chased by a dog once. The owners of the house that I got backed into took me in and called animal control. I think they had a cat too.
